Welcome New Member - Poudre Valley Co-Op

The Poudre Valley Co-Op is a farm, ranch and home co-op that serves the greater Ft. Collins areas with over 2800 members primarily in Larimer, Weld, Adams and Boulder counties, plus Laramie County, Wyoming. It was founded in 1947 at North College in Ft. Collins and moved to its present location in 1976.

A co-op differs from family or corporate owned businesses in that the cooperative (co-op) is owned by its members and operated by the people who buy and use the provided services. Owners are also the customers and profits are not made for investors. Membership is voluntary and open to all. 

The Poudre Valley Co-op comprises five main divisions—Ace Hardware/Farm Store, Turf and Forage seed, Car Care, Refined Fuels and Crop Production. They are licensed by the Colorado Department of Agriculture allowing them access to the current research and proprietary data to best serve any size farm and ranch to the backyard gardener. Poudre Valley Co-Op’s agronomy department is a reliable resource for fertilizers, farm chemicals, lawn and garden chemicals, plus application services. They offer crop consultation and are the go-to for quality seeds for pasture, meadow and turf grass.

Spend any time with either Jan Smith or Harvey Nail, long time buyers in the popular Turf and Seed Division of Poudre Valley Co-Op, for a lively and informative primer on seed types and the best mixes for farm and ranch and home gardeners. They purchase and sell pure seed, no fillers, never coated and never purchased on the commodity market. 

Many Garden Centers of Colorado members and area distributors carry the popular Rocky Mountain Wildflower seed mix, cover crops and turf grass seed mixes purchased from Poudre Valley Co-Op. They are appropriately displayed in self-serve plastic bins along with detailed information about each mix. Customers love this way to buy local, and trust these mixes to perform well in Colorado and surrounding states.
