“GCC Educational Stipend Winners 2008”
 

A total of $2500 was awarded to three candidates for educational stipend awards by GCC in 2008. Funding for these scholarships comes from GROW points awarded to members for participating in special purchases from some of our suppliers.

The three winners are Hannah Lucey, Even Riccardo, and Anne Carlson.
Hannah Lucey from City Floral Garden Center going to Metro State   $1000
Even Riccardo from Welby Gardens Wholesale going to Front Range Community College   $1000
Anne Carlson from Echter's Garden Center taking Master Gardener training in Jefferson County   $500

Million Tree Program

Denver City & County Million Tree Program will begin Aug. 1, 2007
The goal is have consumers plant one million trees in the next several years.  Watch this site for a 10% coupon good at participating stores when you buy and plant a tree.  The program is good at stores throughout the state that choose to participate although only those within certain metro areas can count toward the million tree program.
